Principal Objective of Position:
The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations across an assigned area. This role includes leadership of both office and community-based teams, ensuring compliance with company policies and HSE regulations, managing quality and risk processes, and supporting growth and service delivery that places clients at the centre of everything we do.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Operational Management
Oversee the day-to-day operations of homecare services, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care delivery.
Support and guide service managers and coordinators to meet operational targets and quality standards.
Monitor service performance, including KPIs, service user satisfaction, and staff performance.
Ensure efficient rostering and resource allocation to meet service demands.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all relevant Irish regulations, including HIQA standards and HSE requirements where applicable.
Lead audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives across homecare and related services.
Maintain up-to-date policies, procedures, and risk management practices.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and best practice.
Residential Services Knowledge
Apply knowledge of residential care standards to support service alignment and cross-learning.
Provide operational support and guidance where services overlap or integrate.
Contribute to service development initiatives that enhance both homecare and residential care delivery.
Staff Leadership & Development
Lead, motivate, and support a multidisciplinary team, including managers, coordinators, and care staff.
Identify training and development needs and support continuous professional development.
Manage performance, including supervision, appraisals, and disciplinary processes where required.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with service users, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
Liaise with regulatory bodies, healthcare professionals, and community organisations.
Represent the organisation in meetings, audits, and service reviews.
Financial & Strategic Oversight
Support budget management, cost control, and efficient use of resources.
Contribute to strategic planning and service expansion initiatives.
Identify opportunities for service improvement and growth.
Education & Experience
Minimum 2 years' experience in a management role within homecare or community services preferred. QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification or relevant healthcare award desirable. A management qualification or business degree is advantageous but not essential.
Strong knowledge of the health and social care needs of older people and community-based service delivery.
